#### Limitations of CAP theorem
Note that the original CAP theorem uses a very narrow and specific definition of 'consistency' and 'availability'. Modern system design is often more nuanced than simply selecting CP vs AP. The NoSQL key value store Cassandra, for example, offers tunable consistency for any given read or write operation.
